So the end of Michael Wenn's first season has arrived, read on for his story...
In total I competed in 11 triathlons with 8 Personal Bests. My last race was an Aquathlon on the 12th of August, which I have never done before and won!
I have one last Triathlon race this year before starting my Autumn Winter Training schedule and that is the National Nottingham Relay. This is where a team of four have a combined time to do. I am doing this with a mixed level of talent so more for fun and socialising than for competition.
If you are interested in getting into Triathlon then below are some tips and tricks I think are a must to helping you get faster and better straight away.

TIPS
- Get yourself to a chemist ask for an industrial size tub of KY Jelly....It will cost you nothing in comparison to other brands and will last you ten years. You need this for when you come out of the Bike phase and into transition into your running shoes. You are not wearing socks so get the jelly and rub it into the insteps and toes of your shoes to stop any chaffing and blistering.
- Get elastic lock laces for your trainers so you can slip you shoes on easily and pull the toggle and have comfy and secure footwear for the entire run losing no time on transition.
- Bike shoes should have a single velcro strap and when that strap is open you want to have a shoe that makes it very easy to get your whole foot inside. Then clip your shoes onto your bike pre-race and take a very thin elastic rubber band ( or cut one in half ), tie it from the loop at the back of the bike shoe to the frame so the shoe is horizontal and not dangling down. With the open shoe, you come out of your swim, place your helmet on and then run with your bike to transition, knowing that you can pedal away. Then once you have speed, simply reach down and stick the large velcro strap across. This saves 30 seconds easily.
- Get yourself a written schedule for your week of exercise. Write it in a timetable format and then stick to it. DO NOT DO IT IN YOUR HEAD.

Amazing weather all weekend.
I had a Personal time of 50 minutes. swim was 8 bike was 23 and run was 19 roughly. Would have been a great time for a team x4 but I was there for fun with my running club. The BRJ road runners. PACTRAC is my official TRI club. What about yourself ?
