A Quick Chat With Philippe Riand - The XPages Guy

Tags:

So Lotusphere is over for another year. What a great show!!! More sessions around XPages and the 8.5.1 Designer Client, plus you may have even seen some cool tie-died t-shirts .

I had the chance to have a chat with Philippe Riand about various XPage topics, including a question from our own development team regarding using the Design Description for custom controls. Some of the answers I felt should be shared with the Notes community so Philippe kindly agreed to answer a few on camera.

Comments

1 - Events in the past may be roughly divided into those which probably never happened and those which do not matter.

2 - Coming home from very lonely places, all of us go a little mad: whether from great personal success, or just an all-night drive, we are the sole survivors of a world no one else has ever seen.

3 - I love quotations because it is a joy to find thoughts one might have, beautifully expressed with much authority by someone recognized wiser than oneself.

4 - Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

5 - If a man does not make new acquaintances as he advances through life, he will soon find himself alone. A man should keep his friendships in constant repair.
